Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance: (CAFTA) is a coalition of national organizations that support a more open and fair-trading environment for agriculture and agri-food. Our members represent farmers, producers, processors, and exporters from the major trade-dependent sectors, including beef, pork, meat, grains, cereals, pulses, soybeans, canola, sugar, malt, and processed food industries. Together, we account for 90% of Canada’s agri-food exports, about $50 billion in exports and an economic activity that supports over a million jobs in urban and rural communities across Canada. The Canada Grains Council is the national organization representing the interests of the Canadian grain, oilseed, pulse and special crop sectors. Our members represent the entire value chain, including Canadian growers, seed and life science companies, commodity associations, grain companies and public research institutions. Formed in 1969 to coordinate efforts to increase the sale and use of Canadian grain in domestic and world markets, the Council has become the leading recognized forum of the grain industry, in Canada and around the world. The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Crops (CRSC) was formed in 2013 to facilitate cross-commodity collaboration on sustainable agriculture issues and opportunities facing grains sector participants. Comprised of grower, industry, customer and consumer organizations, the CRSC is a national, industry-led forum engaging value chain stakeholders in assessing and responding to marketplace demands and showcasing Canada’s performance in the area of agriculture sustainability.
